Hand-Drawn Monstrosities!

It is kind of funny (in a funny-sad way, really), but do you know what one of the things I miss most about University is?

Doodling.

There really is no environment quite like University for random boredom-fuelled sketching. When you've got a couple hours to burn between classes, what else are you going to do?

(The problem is not succumbing to the urge to do such during the actual lectures... a battle which, I am mostly sad to say, I was often found to be the loser.

Yes, I succumbed. I am a succumber. Forever more shall I be known as Luke, Lord Succumber, the Succumbing Succumber of Succumingsted worlds.

Um... anyway, moving on, here we have some similar hand-drawn pictures. I hope you enjoy them. And perhaps, upon possession of a scanner sufficient to the task, I might even see what I can do about getting some of the better of the aforementioned doodles on here as well!

Pictured here is an old profile sketch of Akana Hanson... Medic, Scientist, and all around pest to her sister Celine. I haven't used her much in-story, but she sits waiting in the wings, bidding her time.

There are probably more pictures of Celine here then any other, which is kind of odd because she's not really the main character of the Paladyne Chronicles. Nor is she simply the most drawn... its just for some reason her pictures have a tendency to look slightly less horrible then other's. *cough*Bio*cough*

And over here we have a similar sketch of Bio. I can't seem to get comfortable with a 'real name' for him, largely viewing him as being too much of a Marty Stu as it is already. Such is a situation that does not hold well to likewise having him named 'Luke' of some sort or another.

This one shows one of the potential design improvements I've toyed with for the Celinester. Having entwined vines along her Suit helps the 'Forestry' theme, but the impracticality of it (and the extra time it takes to draw them) keep me from using them more.

Another Celine pic. It appears she's broken through a wall, or something. Looks pretty angry. Don't ask me why... she probably just is, in this scene.

Forestry SMASH!!!

Aaaaaand here we are with a reasonable little sketch of a Shin k'DHaia alien.

I love drawing these folks. Those eye crests just do something for me.

Stephanie... one of the Suit-Suits, and general all-around liver of life. She's a fun one, which the series has desperately needed. General props, once again, to Trollman for her existance.

Not much to say about this one. Simple, but I like it. Whether Mr.NiceGuy's Loeskan Subverts will be around making trouble in the future, its hard to say... they come about pretty late in the Alliance of Worlds stories, and I've got enough work to do on Paladyne itself before I might think to get there...

Ahh, the humble corrupted Sidians known as the Summoners. I still lament the incomplete status of the game that featured them, but eh, c'est la vie, and all that. Time, it shall tell and all that.

Rando Williams... Son of Ether, Tinker Extraordinaire. Roleplaying character from Mage: The Ascension. He's made an appearance in so many different games it seems like he's been pretty much everywhere by now. ^_^

One such theatre was the online chat of White Wolf's. Pictured here were his fellow Etherites from the chat, commemerating the first big story chat that eventually led up to nothing less then the end of the world.

Fun stuff!

Another Rando pic here... similar setting to the aforementioned Team Ether one.

Not quite sure what else to say... the picture itself was done with pencil and paper, scanned in to the computer, and then tweaked with some image processing program or other to improve the contrast (pencil doesn't show up too well) and add some lighting effects.

And... um... SCIENCE? Yeah, that't the ticket...
